The movie 'Blood and Wine' is a neo - noir thriller starring Jack Nicholson, Michael Cain, Judy Davis, Stephen Dorff along with Jennifer Lopez and directed by Bob Rafaelson.

Jack Nicholson Played the character, Alex Gates, who seemingly had everything in life. He had a fancy shop from where he run a business, a beautiful wife named Suzanne (played by Judy Davis), a Latin mistress, Gabriella (Jeniffer Lopez) who is very attractive and sexy and an awesome car. But behind this image of wealth and prosperity, finances of Alex Gates was stretched a little too far, his relations with his wife were very strained and relation with his stepson was even more toxic. To escape this financial downfall, Alex joins Victor Spanksy (played by Michael Cain) who would help him to steal a diamond necklace worth one million.

Jack Nicholson would definitely be counted as one of the best actors working presently. He has participated in a number of films that were not very successful in the box office, but Nicholson's performance always stood out. Similarly, such was the case with this movie. Its box office business might not have been very good, but Nicolson's performance is definitely laudable here. Judy Davis, as his wife does justice to the character she played and was positively compelling. Jennifer Lopez looks very pretty and absolutely stunning indeed.

However, even though she was supposed to be playing the role of a mistress, Jeniffer Lopez did not want to take the risk and avoided shooting any part that might have been controversial. She focused mainly on stealing the necklace. Many assume, that it is because of her that this film fared so badly in the box office and was a major flop.

This movie really points out that even with a powerful cast, good story, proper direction and awesome screenplay, a movie can be a flop.
